Personal e-mail addresses of CTU users are registered in the UserMap system, in which we distinguish these types of e-mail addresses.

Preferred address:

Address preference has several meanings, impacts and limitations in CTU systems. The preferred address is provided to CTU systems that are able to work with a single e-mail address. If the user has created or assigned an address in the domain cvut.cz or in one of the subdomains xxx.cvut.cz, then it is not possible to select as an preferred address any address outside these domains.

Sending password:

Allows you to mark an address as possible for sending a password.

Level of publication:

Currently, only the available level of publication is available only within the internal rules of CTU , where the user has the option of all their addresses and publicly the e-mail addresses are visible only preferred by employees. Registered employees have the opportunity to see the preferred address of students.

Mailbox statuses:

  • In operation – mailboxes that are on one of the CTU systems and are in operation
  • Fictitious – there are usually mailboxes that are not operated on CTU systems. These are most often personal mailboxes outside CTU,
  • Blocked due to non-compliance – the most common reasons for blocking a mailbox in the case of a mailbox on the Exchange on-premise system are the loss of a license, or
  • Blocked by the administrator’s decision – for this reason, the mailbox is usually blocked based on some inappropriate user behavior or when the mailbox was discredited,
  • Mailbox in the manual migration process – the mailbox can be placed on various email systems during use. In this case, you can only transfer them manually and the move is in progress,
  • Mailbox in the process of automatic migration – the mailbox can be placed on various email systems during use. In this case, there is an option to transfer them automatically and the move is in progress,
  • The mailbox could not be migrated – the mailbox can be placed on different email systems during use. In this case, the move failed for some reason.

Email Attributes:

  • Receipt – the address marked this way allows you to deliver the email to one of your mailboxes,
  • Sending – the address marked in this way is used as a sending address in a specific system, so the possibility for the address to become a sending address in the CTU systems must comply with the rules,
  • Preferred – This is your preferred address. see explanation above,
  • Possible sending – such an address complies with the CTU rules for sending addresses and you can choose it as the sending address. In a particular system, there is always only one shipping address,
  • Unverified – you have registered your personal address on the system outside CTU, but it has not been verified,

CTU e-mail addresses

These are mainly addresses from the domain @ cvut.cz and its subdomains such as @ fsv.cvut.cz, @ fs.cvut.cz etc. These addresses are issued by individual CTU e-mail service providers and they are entered or deleted in UserMap by machine. .

Verified private email addresses

These are email addresses provided by operators other than CTU, such as addresses from @ seznam.cz, @ gmail.com etc. These addresses can be inserted by each CTU user into their UserMap profile. Entering the address verifies that the address is functional and is controlled by the user.

Preferred email addresses

Each user can have at most one preferred email address, for which the following rules apply:

  • CTU or a verified private address can become your preferred address
  • if a user has an address @fel.cvut.cz, @fjfi.cvut.cz, @fd.cvut.cz, @fbmi.cvut.cz, @fit.cvut.cz, fs.cvut.cz, fa.cvut.cz, student.cvut.cz, partner.cvut.cz or @cvut.cz, a verified private address cannot be marked as preferred,
  • when entering / removing CTU addresses or verified private addresses into / from UserMap, the machine evaluates the status of all user addresses and always marks one of the addresses as preferred, if possible,
  • User can select preferred address in their UserMap profile
  • most CTU systems only work with the preferred address to which they send system information.

Note

Unverified private email addresses – could be entered into the system before 15.11.2019. It is no longer supported.
