Copilot Chat
Copilot Chat is the basic version of Copilot, available in a browser or as an app. It is primarily designed for general inquiries, writing text, summarizing, and working with information from the web.
Microsoft 365 Copilot (paid license)
It integrates with apps such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams and can work directly with your data. For example, it can help summarize emails, create documents, or build presentations. It requires a separate paid license.

Commercial Data Protection
When using Copilot, it is important that the user is signed in with a CTU work or school account. This is the only way to take advantage of work data protection within Microsoft 365.
If protection is active, queries and responses in Copilot are protected according to Microsoft 365 policies and are not used to train foundational AI models. Active protection can be identified by the label “Enterprise Data Protection” or by the shield icon in the Copilot interface.
