The CTU Computer and Information Centre is working on a project to unify the login interface of university applications in order to simplify and streamline user access to the university’s information system (IS). The implementation of single sign-on (SSO) will not only increase user comfort, but will also prepare the IS for the future introduction of multi-factor authentication (MFA), which will significantly enhance login security and reduce the risk of unauthorized access to sensitive information.

Key phases of the implementation of secure login (to be continuously updated):

1. 7. 2025 – Support for authentication via SMS and voice calls will be discontinued. Users who have previously selected these methods as their second authentication factor will no longer be able to use them. If this change affects you, please set up an alternative two-factor authentication method.

18. 6. 2025 – MFA can be activated by requesting the automatically approved role: B-00000-KB-UZIVATEL-IS-MFA-VYZADOVANO. Once this role is assigned, access to CTU IS systems and applications will be possible only after successfully verifying your identity using a second factor (e.g., a mobile authentication app, security key, etc.). More information about MFA: https://ist.cvut.cz/nase-sluzby/vicefaktorove-overovani-mfa/ Note: MFA will be enforced across the entire CTU IS within 60 minutes of the role being assigned. The role can only be removed by submitting a request through HelpDesk/ServiceDesk. Without a second factor, access to the CTU IS will not be possible!

9. 4. 2025 – the login interface of Office365 services (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive…) and applications accessible via SSO Shibboleth (e.g. UserMap, KOS web interface, Moodle, AEDO…) will be unified.
