Dear users,

We are sorry to inform you that we are forced to make a security patch of our main database server Exadata on Tuesday March 24, 2020. Due to this patch we have to shut down all the applications run above Oracle databases. Unfortunately, it was not possible to agree on the planned date according to our published schedules of CTU IS shutdowns with the Oracle Support Centre. Moreover, the patch and its implementation were originally planned without the shutdown and therefore the date did not seem to be a trouble. However, tests showed us that the outage during the patch can last for tens of minutes. We will clarify on Friday March 20, 2020 if we can keep SFIS applications running during the process.

Update (20.3.2020): The SFIS application including the document management system will also be out of service during the outage.

The shutdown will not affect mail services and Microsoft products (e.g. Active Directory, Exchange, Sharepoint, Teams and other Office 365 products).

We apologize for any inconvenience that may occur. The patch package mentioned above has to be implemented regularly every 6 months in order to comply with the Oracle technical support conditions. This is the first implementation of such extent for us and by the shutdown we want to avoid any problems which could limit the correct functioning of the system for a significantly longer period. The system will be renewed on Wednesday morning.

We hope you stay positive even in the difficult time we all face now.
